When should I drop off my vehicle?
You can drop off your vehicle anytime during our business hours, but to minimize rental expenses, early morning drop off in the beginning of the work week are best.
Can I get a rental while my vehicle is repaired?
If you have rental coverage on you insurance policy it may pay for all or part of your rental cost if repairs are part of a covered loss. If you are making a claim against the at fault party's Insurance company they may pay for comparable rental vehicle.
Once you arrive at our shop we will have the rental company come pick you up and drive you to the rental office where you will complete the rental paperwork and pick out a vehicle.
Do you work with my insurance company?
We have agreements with many insurance companies and belong to several "Direct Repair Programs".
Do I have to get multiple estimates?
There is no requirement in the State of New Jersey that requires you to provide an insurance company with multiple estimates. All you need is to find one licensed facility that you trust will perform quality repairs to your vehicle.
My insurance company offers a "Full Service Program", do I have to use it?
You are not required to participate in their program even if we are not on the list that your insurance company provides. Keep in mind that some "Full Service Programs" are better than others. Some of these programs require participating shops to minimize expenses and can result in inferior results.
At Edison Collision we have an open promise to any vehicle owner that we will adhere to the highest quality and expeditious service standards regardless of whether your repairs are done "in network," "outside of the network," or self payment.
Do you have a warranty?
When your repairs are completed we will provide you with a written "Limited Lifetime Warranty." Basically, it is limited to the work we did and covers the paint, parts and labor for as long as you keep the vehicle. There are exclusions for wear and tear items and of course new accident damage.
Can I get additional work done?
While your vehicle is in the shop it is a great idea to take care of those parking lot dings, scratches, or other minor damage. Due to an overlap in labor and materials you will be able to save substantial money versus coming back later.
Do you offer special discounts?
We offer reduced labor rates for senior citizens, students, military personal as well as coupons in local publications.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept insurance company checks, bank checks, cash and debit cards to pay for the majority of the repair cost. For deductibles and co payment we accept major credit cards, debit cards and cash. *sorry no American Express cards*
If you would like to pay by personal checks please let us know before repairs have been completed.
What is a deductible?
If your vehicle is going to be repaired as part of an insurance claim on your insurance policy a deductible may apply. Deductibles are applied to collision and comprehensive claims but not to liability claims. The declarations page of your policy will list all coverages as well as your deductible. Typical deductibles amounts we see are $100, $250, $500, $750, & $1000.
What type of claim should I make?
Your actual policy will list what is covered and what is excluded. In general here are some broad definitions:
Collision: Damage that results from an impact with another vehicle or an object.
Comprehensive: Any other damage your vehicle sustains that is not caused by a collision. Examples: Theft, Deer Impact, Hail Damage.
Liability-Property Damage: This coverage will pay for damage you cause to someone else's vehicle or property.
Liability-Bodily Injury: This coverage will pay for expenses related to injuries you cause someone else.
Personal Injury Protection: This coverage may pay for injuries you or passengers sustain.
What is No Fault Insurance?
No Fault also known as PIP (Personal Injury Protection) is a mandatory part of all NJ auto policies and basically says that if you or your passenger are injured then your own policy will pay for medical bills. * No Fault (PIP) is in no way associated with damages you or the other party sustain to your respective vehicles*
